VINAIott

3-Band Upward + Downward Compressor

The multiband move behind loud electronic drops. VINAIott splits your signal into three bands and runs each one through our Three-Band Pressure Engine: an upward stage that lifts what is quiet, then a downward stage that holds back what is loud. Detail comes up, peaks come down, and the band gets dense. Insert it at its defaults on a full mix and your level stays within 2 dB of where it was, so what you hear is density, not volume. Zero latency, with GR meters that read the dB you hear.

Zero Latency
Clean · By Design

VINAIott compresses three bands without adding a single sample of latency. The output starts on the input sample at 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz, and there is nothing for your DAW to compensate. Once its 10 ms fade settles, bypass returns your signal bit-for-bit, wherever IN and OUT are set.

01 · Two stages

Up first,
then down.

Every band runs two compressors in series around one level, its THRESH. Under THRESH the upward stage lifts the band, and the further the band falls, the more it lifts, so tails and low-level detail come forward. Over THRESH the downward stage takes the band as the upward one left it and pulls back what is loud. A band sitting right on THRESH passes untouched. AMOUNT sets how much of the two stages acts, and GAIN is the make-up after them.

  • GAIN 0–24 dB per band, after the compressor, 0 dB by default on every band
  • THRESH in whole dB, −32 to 0 on LOW and HIGH, −28 to 0 on MID
  • AMOUNT 0–100%: 50% gives half the lift and half the cut, and 0% takes the compressor out of the band
  • Below about −90 dBFS of band level the upward lift fades out, so silence and the noise floor get no lift
02 · Crossover

Three bands,
two handles.

Two crossovers split the signal into LOW, MID and HIGH, and they live on the analyzer as two handles. Drag one and the ranges on the band cards follow. The handles travel ten octaves, from 16 Hz to 16.7 kHz, and start at 185 Hz and 4.2 kHz. Pull one past the other and they swap roles, with the same sound as the ordered pair.

  • CROSSOVER DIGITAL: 24 dB per octave, the three bands sum back flat at any spacing
  • CROSSOVER ANALOG: 24 dB per octave, −3 dB at the split for the bump of an analog crossover
  • FILTER DIGITAL keeps each processed band inside its range, with filters an octave outside its crossovers
  • A CROSSOVER or FILTER flip crossfades in 10 ms
03 · Vision

Every dB,
both ways.

Each band card carries a two-way GR meter. Blue on the left is what the downward stage takes and lava on the right is what the upward stage adds, with the number at each end. Both read the dB you hear at the output, with MIX, AMOUNT, MUTE, SOLO and BYPASS in the count, so a band nobody hears reads 0. Above the cards, the analyzer draws the output over a faint trace of the input, with a dashed THRESH line across each band.

  • Two-way GR per band: ▼ cut in blue, ▲ lift in lava, 24 dB ladder, true reading in tenths
  • Lift plus cut match the heard level change of the band within 0.01 dB on steady tones
  • 2048-point analyzer across the plugin's own ten octaves, output in blue over the input
  • Zero latency, measured at 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz

Push it loud.
Read every band.

Three knobs per band set the pressure. The rest of the panel shows you, band by band, what the two stages are doing to your mix.

P01

LIFT

The first stage lifts each band as it falls under THRESH, by up to 15 dB, so decays and low-level detail come forward. Below about −90 dBFS of band level the lift fades out, and silence gets none.

P02

CUT

The second stage takes the band as the upward one left it and pulls back whatever rises over THRESH. The same THRESH, in whole dB, is a dashed line on the analyzer, and a band that sits on it passes untouched.

P03

SPLIT

Two handles on the analyzer, ten octaves of travel. CROSSOVER chooses a flat digital sum or an analog bump, and FILTER decides whether each band's processing may spill past its splits.

P04

METERS

A two-way GR meter on every band, blue for the cut and lava for the lift, reading the dB you hear. A muted, soloed-out or bypassed band reads 0.
